Experience Required: 5+ years (or 5 additional years in lieu of degree)
We are seeking a Level 1 System Administrator to provide hands‑on support, troubleshooting, and daily operational management of enterprise IT systems. This role supports both Tier 1 and Tier 2 activities and is essential to maintaining system reliability, performance, and user accessibility across a diverse technical environment.
Support the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems.
Manage IT system infrastructure and related operational processes.
Provide day‑to‑day support for client, server, storage, network, and mobile devices.
Deliver Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
Communicate issue status and escalations to agency leadership and internal customers.
Support hardware dispatch processes and remain engaged through resolution.
Configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems, including installation, troubleshooting, and performance enhancements.
Maintain system integrity and configure network components.
Manage daily configuration and operation of IT systems.
Assist users with system access and usage.
Optimize system operations, monitor resource utilization, and perform capacity planning.
Five (5) years of experience as a System Administrator supporting programs of similar scope and complexity
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline
Five (5) additional years of SA experience may be substituted for the degree
Automation experience using Ansible, Python, and Bash
Experience with CI/CD pipelines
Containerization using Kubernetes, Docker, Ansible, or Swarm
Git repository management
Experience configuring and managing Windows and Linux DHCP/DNS
Proficiency with Linux distributions (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian)
Understanding of Linux processes, file systems, networking, and offline repositories
Familiarity with cloud‑native technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP), container registries, and logging/monitoring tools (ELK Stack, Prometheus)
Experience with automation tools such as SaltStack, Puppet, or Chef
Experience with hypervisors such as VMware, Proxmox, or OpenStack
