We are seeking a Level 2 System Administrator to provide hands‑on support, troubleshooting, and operational excellence across a diverse set of IT systems. This role supports day‑to‑day system operations, escalated technical issues, and ongoing optimization of enterprise environments. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working across both Windows and Linux platforms in a fast‑paced, mission‑focused environment.
Support the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems.
Manage IT system infrastructure and related operational processes.
Provide daily support for client/server/storage/network devices and mobile systems.
Deliver Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
Communicate issue status and escalations to agency leadership and internal customers.
Support hardware dispatch processes and remain engaged through resolution.
Configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems, including installation, troubleshooting, and performance enhancements.
Maintain system integrity, configure network components, and implement OS improvements.
Manage daily configuration and operation of IT systems.
Assist users with system access and usage.
Optimize system operations, monitor resource utilization, and perform capacity planning.
10 years of experience as a System Administrator supporting programs of similar scope and complexity
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline
Five (5) additional years of SA experience may be substituted for the degree
Automation experience using Ansible, Python, and Bash
CI/CD pipeline experience
Containerization with Kubernetes, Docker, Ansible, or Swarm
Git repository management
Experience configuring and managing Windows and Linux DHCP/DNS
Proficiency with Linux distributions (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian)
Understanding of Linux processes, file systems, networking, and offline repositories
Familiarity with cloud‑native technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP), container registries, and cloud‑based logging/monitoring tools (ELK Stack, Prometheus)
Experience with automation tools such as SaltStack, Puppet, or Chef
Experience with hypervisors such as VMware, Proxmox, or OpenStack
