System Administrator 

Location: Annapolis Junction, MD
Clearance Required: TS/SCI with Polygraph

About the Role

We’re seeking a highly experienced System Administrator with strong, quantifiable Linux system administration expertise. In this role, you’ll support a wide range of IT systems across multiple environments, working with modern automation tools, hyperconverged infrastructure, and container‑based technologies. You’ll join a mission‑focused team where your technical depth, troubleshooting skills, and ability to keep systems running smoothly will make a direct impact every day.

What You’ll Work On

• Implementing, troubleshooting, and maintaining IT systems across diverse environments

• Providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 support, including problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution

• Managing daily configuration and operations of IT systems

• Assisting users with system access and usage

• Monitoring and resolving issues across client/server, storage, network, and mobile devices

• Escalating and communicating system status to management and internal customers

• Optimizing system operations, resource utilization, and capacity planning

• Performing in‑depth troubleshooting and analysis for complex IT issues

• Supporting dispatch and hardware problem resolution

• Configuring and managing UNIX and Windows operating systems

• Installing, maintaining, and enhancing operating system software and network components

• Supporting system and mission architecture design

• Applying knowledge of system administration interdependencies within a Service‑Oriented Architecture (SOA)

• Analyzing and resolving complex server hardware, application, and integration issues

Required Technical Skills

• Strong, hands‑on Linux System Administration experience

• Ansible scripting and automation

• Some Windows System Administration

• Experience with:

  • ProxMox

  • Centrify

  • Harvester

  • Rancher

  • Kubernetes / Docker

  • Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) solutions such as:

    • Azure Stack HCI

    • Cisco HyperFlex

    • DataCore SANsymphony

    • Dell VxRail

    • HPE SimpliVity

    • Nutanix HCI

    • NetApp HCI

    • Scale Computing Platform

Qualifications

• 15+ years of System Administration experience supporting programs of similar scope and complexity

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline

  • Five additional years of SA experience may be substituted for the degree

• IAT Level II certification (per DoD 8570.01‑M)
